Elektrische Energie kommt aus der Steckdose; und zwar so viel wir wollen. Apps, Spiele, Programme und sämtliche Medien, die nach unserer Aufmerksamkeit verlangen, gibt es genug. Kein Wunder also, dass man gerne mal unreflektiert alles gleichzeitg laufen lässt, aber eigentlich nichts bräuchte außer genügend Licht, um ein Buch zu lesen.

Die “ökay-Lamp” bietet Steckplätze, um andere elektrische Geräte zu versorgen. Jedoch: Umso mehr Strom diese verbrauchen, desto schwächer strahlt die Leuchte - eine Erinnerung daran, dass wider allen Anscheins auch Elekrizität kein unbegrenztes Gut ist.

Ist “alles, immer und überall” wirklich die Maxime unserer Gesellschaft? Und bedeutet weniger Verbrauch wirklich weniger Lebensqualität? Ist die neue Extravaganz vielleicht Extrarelevanz ?!

Electric energy comes out of a socket and we can have as much as we want. There are more than enough apps, games, programs and all kinds of other media that crave our attention. So, it is no wonder that we let several things run at the same time, without thinking twice about it, even if we don’t need anything else but enough light to read a book.

The “ökay lamp” has sockets to plug in other electrical appliances. BUT the more electricity the appliances need the weaker the light will become - a reminder that even though it looks that way, electricity is not unlimited available.

Do we really need everything always and everywhere? Does consuming less necessarily mean less life quality? Or is Extrarelevance the new Extravagance?!
